The Problem with AI App Builders
Every AI app builder on the market today has the same fundamental flaw: they own your code.
You describe what you want, the AI generates it, and then… it lives on their platform. In their proprietary format. On their servers. Usually in the US, where your data is subject to the CLOUD Act and other regulations that conflict with European data protection standards.
As engineers who've spent years building production software, this felt deeply wrong.
The Breaking Point
The tipping point came when a client asked us a simple question: "Can I export my code and run it somewhere else?"
With every major AI builder, the answer was either "no" or "technically yes, but good luck making it work." That's not ownership. That's renting.
Our Vision
We believe in three principles:
- Your code belongs to you. Every Alpabuild project is a real Git repository. Clone it, fork it, run it anywhere.
- Your data stays in Switzerland. We're incorporated as alpa.one GmbH in Switzerland. Our infrastructure runs on Swiss servers. Your data is protected by the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP/nDSG) — one of the strongest privacy frameworks in the world.
- AI should enhance developers, not replace them. Alpabuild generates production-ready code that you can read, understand, and modify. No black boxes.
